Coast Inn at Lake Hood

Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. The hotel is a bit dated, and there are minimal views from the room. But that’s not why you stay here. The hotel is close to the airport and an offers a 27/7 airport shuttle that was fast for pickup and delivery. Lake Hood is across the street, so if you venture out you’ll see float planes takeoff and land. There is an aviation museum within a mile that was well worth a visit for us. There’s an on-site restaurant and bar that’s convenient if you don’t want to venture out. We’d definitely stay here again when traveling to Anchorage.

Travelling on Vacation. Pick-up shuttle service to and from airport was prompt and driver was very courteous. Hotel staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant was the biggest surprise, we were not expecting such an incredible experience from a "Hotel" restaurant. Service was fantastic. Best Halibut Fish and Chips I've ever eaten. Wifi in the room was a bit slow. An elevator to the second floor would be helpful for us older folks with heavy bags. We requested a room on the ground floor for our second visit and was accommodated with a smile. I highly recommend this "Jewel in Alaska"

Extremely handy location. Large, comfortable rooms. Shuttle is slow but will eventually come, and the hotel is very close to the airport. There is a restaurant in the hotel, which is handy for travelers. Negatives - NO ELEVATOR which means you are hauling all your bags up the stairs, and since you are in Alaska you probably brought some big heavy bags. And in the morning, you can just haul them all back down the stairs. Restaurant had super slow service, fwiw, and front desk was not friendly, but overall the Coast Inn got it done, and gets an A for convenience.

If you like plane watching, this is the place for you. Float planes landing and taking off all the time. The rooms are decently accommodated but definitely would not describe it as luxury. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker help with comforts of home.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The service was very friendly and competent, the food at the restaurant is good and reasonably priced, and the location is close to the airport with views of the lake.
